Does Life Imitate Art, or Does Art Imitate...Baseball?

I think I pretty firmly established in this post (under "the bad") that handbag designers should not turn to boxing for inspiration. And now apparently baseball has to be added to the don't-use-sports-as-handbag-inspiration-PLEASE! list.

I like baseball as much as the next gal. It is America's pastime, after all. And I played softball for many, many years when I was younger. So if anyone would like a baseball-inspired handbag, it would be me.

But, not so much. I don't know what the heck an Astor Grommet is (anyone? Bueller?), but I know that I don't want to eat it, watch it, or wear it on my arm

And it really kills me to say this, because Mikey Kors is by far my favorite Project Runway judge. Maybe it's time for him to stop the whole designer thing and to focus full time on PR.

Am I totally off-base here? Or are these bags fugtastic? Baseball as art: yay or nay?
